Systems Support Specialist

Description

Working as part of the IT Operations team, the Systems Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting the hardware/software infrastructure for our head office, branch locations, and data centres.

Responsibilities
  • Work with developers to setup our .NET application on IIS7+ and Azure including optimization
  • Provide support for our Web Application’s 100% uptime SLA
  • Administration and support of information systems running on Microsoft Windows Server platform, including Microsoft Exchange Server, Active Directory, SQL server, Internet Information Server (IIS), and information security systems.
  • Setup and administration of system security, including system access, firewall/VPN configuration, antivirus management, security patch management, and backup management
  • Implementation of software upgrades; including firmware revisions, operating systems, production software upgrades and other enhancements as required
  • Maintain and support our office IT infrastructure
  • Support multiple company job sites and branch offices
Requirements
  • Degree or College diploma in Information Technologies or MCSE or equivalent experience
  • Windows 2012/2016 with strong IIS knowledge
  • 5+ Years Systems Administration experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with users at various levels in the organization and work as part of the IT Operations team
  • Willingness to learn new technologies as they become available
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to provide on-call support on a rotational basis. Work during maintenance windows (Saturday and Thursday 1am - 5am) when requested
  • Practical experience installing/maintaining Windows 2012/2016, DNS, Active Directory, Windows 10
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at the same time
  • Attention to detail and consistency are key qualities for this position
Nice to Have
  • IIS7 with MS .NET Framework integration
  • Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP administration
  • Practical experience installing/maintaining VMware vSphere environments
  • Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 SaaS environment
  • Microsoft Exchange administration
  • MS SQL Server administration
  • Local Area and Wide Area Networking  experience with respect to Internet and inter-site communications including data centre architecture, high availability, VPN, SMTP
  • Firewall administration experience
  • Drupal and Concrete 5 experience
